AOC, also known as Active Optical Cable, is an active cable composed of optical fiber, copper wire and optical engine, which can complete the electro-optic photoelectric conversion on the cable. AOC HDMI, as the name suggests, is an active optical fiber cable for transmitting HDMI signals, which is mainly used for long-distance transmission of ultra-high speed signals.
AOC uses electrical-to-optical conversion on the cable ends to improve speed and distance performance of the cable without sacrificing compatibility with standard electrical interfaces.
